Bungling is when a spell fails to cast. The likelihood of bungling is dependent on a couple things:

  • Wearing metal or otherwise heavy armor (unless in the Paladins guild). In general, Cloth and Gold armor are the only things that won't bungle.
  • Status effects, such as Confusion and Fear.

These bungle-inducing effects stack. For example, a character wearing 4 metal pieces of armor will have a higher bungle chance than if they were just wearing one.
