About

In it's current build, this is (one of) the most difficult quest in Wyvern. Odin's Eye has been stolen from him, and he thinks it might have been one of the other gods in Asgard. This quest grants 60QP and eternal bragging rights if you solved it without a guide, and standard bragging rights if you solve it with the guide.

What You'll Need

  • See the tips section for extra prep
  • You will need several hours set aside for this quest
  • Resistance Potions
  • Bring a Rod of Create Earth Wall

What is the Quest?

Before I begin with the guide. The quest is quite simple, Odin has lost his eye!!! (his precious gem) and he wants it back. The person who has stole it is the 'evil ice queen' of Asgard, Hel. If only you could just run up to her and kill her, and steal it back - but her precious dog, Fenrir, is guarding the way and we have to get rid of him! To do that, we need to get Thor to create the Gleipnir (which ironically is a red twine, Fenrir must be a feline!).

For Thor to create the Gleipnir, we need the following 4 ingredients: Noise of a Cat, Breath of a Fish, Beard of a Woman, and Bird Spittle. This guide will collect the 4 items in the same order I just listed them.

How to Solve

WyvernSource Guide

Introduction

The quest begins in Bifrost, as of right now there is no longer a permanent Bifrost Bridge that can be found at the North Claw, a little east of Tornaum Castle behind the mountains. You have to purchase a Bifrost Finder (5k from general stores) which will help you find the Bifrost Bridge.

I also want to mention, when doing Step One, labelled below - IF YOU ARE A MAGE (or a naga, or cant kill diamond golems), bring a crossbow + LOTS of bolts (like 500+ to be sure), there are quite a few diamond golems blocking your way in a tight corridor, so you MUST kill them. Unless you have other means of killing them, crossbow is where it's at!

Beginning the Quest

Once you enter bifrost, you'll find yourself in the world of Asgard. Go north of the bridge, entering into Heimdals Himinbiorg, then north some more till you exit and reach the giant fountain, which I like to refer to as the Crossroads.

Step One: Breath of a Cat

To the northeast of the crossroads (same map), you'll find a big house called Valhalla. Enter inside and speak to the female NPC named Ariel. The password she wants is 'key'. She will give you the Fire Key which will be used to enter Loki's Cave.

Now you can exit Valhalla and go west a map. In this new map, you will see Thor's Bilskirner (Thor's house) at the top right of the map. Loki is trapped at the 25th floor of one of Thor's Dungeons. Enter the building and go west one room, then north till you are met by some stairs. This is the entrance to a 25 floor RD so be prepared with all sorts of resists! (To verify you entered the right RD, when you're on the first floor, type 'where' and it should read "Thor's Dungeon 2: level 1".

Once you make it to the end, you will enter the Fire Cave. If I'm remembering the path to Loki's Palace correctly, its north, north, west, southwest, and north. If I'm wrong, just explore the giant cave till you find the ugly black building (Loki's Palace). Once you find his Palace and enter, Type 'unlock' on the door and head on in and up the staircase. Here you will find four corridors, the north corridor contains a room with 6 altars. Each altar requires a special gem. There are two gems in each of the three corridors. Enter all three corridors and collect the gems, they look like small little balls of different gem colours. The only trick here is that in the south corridor (I think it was the south), one of the gems is hidden under the cracks in the floor. To find this gem, stand on the crack and apply it, revealing the hidden gem. If all the cracks in the south corridor dont have one, check the other corridors. Either way, shouldn't take too long to find all 6 gems.

Once you have them all, go to the north corridor and drop them all onto their respective altars, one at a time, till all the gates open.

Left side: Purple Blue Green

Right Side: White Orange Red

Purple and White go in their respective top left altars. Blue and Orange in the top right. Green and Red in the middle bottom

Hop on inside the gates and get ready to fight Loki! Once you kill him, you will get the 'Ice Key' and the 'Breath of a Cat'.

Step Two: Breath of a Fish

Next we're going to get the 'Breath of a Fish'. Exit Thor's building and go west a map to find 'Njord's Noatun'. Head inside, go west two maps, up the stairs, and you'll find some stairs going down inside of Njord's Aquarium. Inside this Aquarium there is a sunken ship which has a giant Squid guarding it (I suggest being highly careful with the squid as it hits worse than a hydra, 8 hits a shot, very painful if you have low agility or low health). To get inside the sunken ship you need to find two keys scattered throughout the aquarium, I believe their randomized. However, if you have high enough Sneak to pick locks, or high enough Mind Magic for some decent knocking, you can make your way straight to the Sunken Ship and kill the giant squid. Once he dies, you'll find the 'Breath of Fish' in his corpse.

Step Three: Beard of a Woman

IMPORTANT: Before you begin, make sure you have a Rod of Create Earth Wall on hand. There is a bug that spawns a teleporter in a spot that makes it impossible to progress without this item.

Next we'll be getting the Beard of a Woman. Go east two maps till you reach the crossroads. From here, go east one map and you'll see 'Vidar's Landvidi'.

Warning, there is a SIDESCROLLER phase as part of this step, however, it is 10x easier and quicker than Kiz's so no need to fret. Head on inside, go north one map, then east, and into the portal. As mentioned above, there is a bug that occurs on the first side scroller map if you die too many times. When going up some steps, the top step will suddenly have an invisible teleporter that you cannot jump over. To deal with this, use your Rod of Create Earth Wall to spawn a block on the steps. Jump on top of them, then jump over the teleporter to continue. Shout 'Thanks Savy' if this helped, just for fun.

Here begins the sidescroller maze. It's only one map in size, so make your way through to reach the next map. Here we begin the ELEVATOR MAZE. You start on FLOOR #0, and there are a total of 8 Floors. What you must do is hop on the elevator (when it comes all the way down to you), and enter the floor in the sequence I will shortly list. So if the first floor you must enter is 1, as the elevator goes up - hop off the elevator onto the first floor, and keep going right ---> till you enter the next map (which is an identical map to the one you're already in, but the sign at the beginning changes telling you that you've been going further).

If you mess up the sequence, you'll restart - which is a pain as the elevator is SO slow. Just follow this sequence: 6, 1, 8, 3, 5, 7, 2, 3. Once you enter the final 3'rd floor (as per the sequence), you'll find a small area with the Beard of a Woman, and some other small loot waiting for you. Now make your way out of this disgusting sidescroller and never think about it again!

Step Four: Bird Spittle

Once you exit Vidar's Landvidi, go east one map, and go north two maps till you see 'Freyja's Folkvang'. Head inside, go north one map, at the bottom right of this map there is a staircase, head on up. Here are 3 floors that I refer to as 'Freyja's Maze'. Its a teleport maze where you would walk around, dropping coins to try to figure out the correct path. But lucky for you, I have it right here:

Level 1 of Freyja's Maze n;n;n;n;n;e;e;s;s;e;e;e;e;e;e;n;e;e;e;n;e;n;n;n;w;w;w;s;s;w;w;w;w;w;n;w;w;w;w;w;w;n;n;w;n;n;n;e;e;e;e;e;s;s;s;e;e;n;n;n;n;n;n;n;e;e;e;e;e;e

Level 2 Of Freyja's Maze w;w;w;w;w;w;w;s;s;s;s;s;w;w;w;s;s;s;s;s;e;e;e;s;s;s;e;e;e;e;e;n;n;n;e;e;e;n;n;n;n;n;w;w;w;n;n;e;e;e;e;e;s;s;s;s;s;s;s;s;s;w;w;w;s;s;s;w;w;w;w;w;w;w;w;w

Level 3 of Freyja's Maze e;e;e;e;n;n;n;n;e;e;e;e;e;e;e;n;n;w;w;w;w;w;w;w;w;w;s;s;s;w;w;w;w;n;n;n;n;n;n;e;e;n;n;n;n;e;e;s;s;s;s;s;e;e;e;e;e;e;e;e;n;n;n;w;w;n;n;n;n;e;

Copy and paste the above, depending on which floor of the maze you're on, and you'll literally fly straight through the maze onto the staircase. Make your way up, and repeat for the next floor, till you reach the top (4th floor) which has the Bird Spittle waiting for you in the center.

Step Five: Getting the Gleipnir

FINALLY, we have all four ingredients! Exit Freyja's Folkvang and make your way to the crossroads (south two maps, west two maps). From here, go west one map and enter Thor's Bilskirner. Go north till you find Thor himself, and give him your four ingredients. He will give you the red twine, aka the Gleipnir.

Step Six: Finding Hel's Cave

Now exit Thor's Bilskirner, go north one map, go east one map. In this map, towards the top, there is a small ice cave. Head on inside, and make your way to the Ice Queen (Hel's Castle), found towards the northeast portion of the cave (keep trying to go east/north, till you make it there - can't remember the exact map order).

Step Seven: Collecting the Eye

Once you're inside Hel's Castle, kill the enemies that block your way, keep going north till you see a giant cat/dog, monster sort of thing, blocking your way. This is Fenrir, Hel's guard. Stand infront of it and type 'bind' in the command prompt. This will use the Gleipnir and bind Fenrir, allowing you to get past. Enter the following map and you'll find a water/fire dragon (half cold, half fire dragon). Get ready for a short - but fun? fight. Once it's dead, grab the Hel's Orb he drops, which will allow you to enter Hel's room. Make your way (up the stairs? or north in the corridor, cant remember), till you find Hel. She's actually one of the easiest 'boss' enemies you have to fight. Once you kill her, she'll drop Odin's Eye.

Step Eight: Finishing the Quest

YAYYYYY we're almost done! Make your way outside of the ice cave, and go west one map. From here, go north into the 'evil forest' as I like to call it. (Watch out for the 'giant' looking female monsters that wear a giant white gown, they're really strong, Banshees). Once inside the forest, make the first left you see, from here go northwest into the small grassy path between the forest. Northwest again, past the unicorn this time (kill it for a chance of a unicorn horn!). From here, stay against the right wall and go south to the bottom right corner, then go west all the way and you will see a dead unicorn. Apply it, to get some unicorn meat and make your way back out of the forest.

Now that you're outside the forest, theres a building to your left called 'Odin's Valaskialf'. Head on inside, go north till you see Odin and a dog guarding the way. This dog is really... really.... hungry, good think we found some Unicorn Meat! Give it to the dog, and he'll disappear. Walk up to Odin and give him his precious Eye.

Congratulations, you have just earned 60 Quest Points, and been given Odin's Rune. Please shout out 'Thanks Hado' to show your gratitute, even if I'm not online!

Step Nine: Collecting your Reward

So now that you have Odin's Rune, from the room Odin is in, go west one map, then north, and at the bottom left corner go up the staircase. Go south and you will see two NPC's, each behind a wall. Be wary of accidentally tapping them (standing beside them) as you will give them your Rune, without deciding which reward you want! The left NPC, Antilla, will give you the Ring of Enhanced Protection (designed for melee users), and to the right, the NPC Reynalla, will give you the Elite Wizard's Robe (designed for mage users). Choose wisely, and enjoy.

Threats

Be aware that there are a TON of threats here and I cannot remember them all, especially since you will be journeying through 25 floors of RD's, so you can literally find anything, including Reapers and Ghasts. Each enemy you can think of more than likely has a frozen version in this quest.

Skulls

Frozen Skulls (Thunderstorm!)

Shoggoth (All types)

Medusa

Maralith

Demon Lord

Diamond Golems

Giant Squid

Banshee (They are large creates that wear white gowns. They hit super hard, cast death ray, sonic boom, and siren's song)

Loki (If you killed the Giant Squid already, this guy is a walk in the park)

Dragon Fire/Ice (I forget it's name. Difficult for mages since the room is small, should be fair enough for melee. All resists required)

Hel (One of the easier bosses in this quest)

Tips

  • Be prepared to die
  • The giant red squid is susceptible to items such as Rod of Lightning Bolt
  • Do not start the RD to get to Loki without the Fire Key
  • Loki and Hel are not that difficult, but don't underestimate them
